How do I use the Mini Magnets to complement Math Stackers® blocks in my classroom?
Here are the three best ways to use them with the blocks:
- Independent Practice: Extend the lesson beyond the teacher table. Students can take the concept they explored with the blocks during small group instruction and immediately apply it at their own desks using the magnets.
- Show and Prove: After students solve a problem with the foam blocks, ask them to recreate their solution using the magnets on a personal magnetic whiteboard. This helps them transition from holding the math to visualizing the math.
- Capture the "Math Talk": Because the magnets stick, students can hold up their boards to share their strategies during number talks without their stacks toppling over. It keeps the focus on the thinking, not just the balancing!

No, the comprehensive training is exclusive to our Math Stackers® Learning Systems.
These magnets are designed as a supplemental tool. To access the full training—where we teach you exactly how to facilitate deep math thinking and student discovery—you will need a Learning System (the block sets).
